I know that...

I suck. It's official. I haven't yet posted...but I'm doing it now! Get EXCITED!

I'm currently sitting at home at 10:45 on Saturday night watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail for the third time this week (I fart in your general direction!) and I'm so tired of having nothing to do but clean. I feel like the only productive thing I can do on weekends is clean up and pack (to get myself in the mood to move- possibly). Mostly I just watch movies, read, and play on the computer. On a side note- I really want to get tickets to see Spamelot on Vegas.

Mostly though I've been keeping myself out of trouble. I work all day and after that I am usually too tired to do anything productive or fun. But I've been busy at work, packing and cleaning because I'm moving offices (hopefully next week- we'll see). This week though my coworkers and I wrapped our director's office in newspaper. The desk, the chairs, the computer, all the way down to the mousepad and post-it notes. He was on vacation this week in Key West and we thought it would be funny. I sure hope he does as well! We do this a lot to each other, mess with each others offices when we're on vacation. To be honest I was shocked to see my office how I had left it after returning from Chicago. (Well, my stress ball had gone missing but I found it that Monday in my coworker's office- the jerk stole it and thought I wouldn't notice...ha)

Can I just tell you how excited I am for Harry Potter!??!?!?? AH! I've been going to a Harry Potter discussion group on Thursday's at lunch. Each week we discuss a different book. It's been very fun and actually quite intersting. The majority of the group is older women (who sometimes bring their children) but there is one guy who always wears a shirt that says "I solomnly swear I am up to no good" on it. This Thursday we are discussing The Goblet of Fire. Anna I'll let you know what we talk about since I know that's your favorite book.

I really need to find some friends to go with my to the movie and to the book release party. I'm a dork. LOVE IT!

Okay, back to the movie.

"You said you have three pies!"

Also- Anna, I have started my own blogspot blog. Actually I made it a month ago and haven't been good about updating it but...anyway. Can you link it to this one? And can you teach me how to make it fun like yours? And finally (to stop being annoying) can you make me a fun banner for the top- I have no idea how to do that. The title of the blog is Breaking Free (which is an ode to my favorite Queen song of the moment - I Want to Break Free). Much appreciated!

Living with Grandma

Okay, so some of you (Kim and Scott, mostly) have called me in the last few days/past week and I haven't called you back. I'm sorry. I suck. But I have to admit that I'm not in a real phone call mood right now. I'm actually a little--uh, "depressed" is not quite the word, but I've been watching a lot of Sweet Home Alabama lately, if that means anything to you. I'm sitting on my grandmother's porch right now (it's 9:30 central, dark, and there are bugs flying around and crawling all over me) because it's the only way I can access the damn Internet. I'm sort of lonely, which makes no sense why I'm not calling anybody, but I feel like I'm walking on eggshells all the time around here and I don't want to make too much noise or disturb or anything. I also feel like my life is so BORING, I don't feel compelled to give anyone a ringaling just to tell them that. Thus, the genius of the blog!

As for my job, it's going really really well. The move totally wiped me this weekend, so it was a bit of a roughie getting up this morning (although I did go to bed at TEN THIRTY, the side effect of living with an eighty-year-old woman) and the commute is crap, but at least somebody is driving me somewhere. If I close my eyes and don't breathe (sometimes the CTA smells like pee), it's almost like I have my own personal driver. Which, for the record, is what I would do with $200,000--we took a poll at work.

Anywizzle, sorry for being such a dope and also for being boring, but such is my life at the moment. Although, when Bri said that in her post, I was like, "I love hearing about your parents' raccoon problems!", so either that means that we're not all as boring as we think we are, or that we're all SO bored that even others' boring lives seem cool by comparison. Tomorrow, I plan to go to the library on my lunch break--chew on that for four or five seconds, y'all!

This is how you post a picture

Okay, so here's the html for posting a picture:

<*img src="thehtmlcodeforthepicturegoeshere"*>

You're going to want to delete those asterisks (it won't let me write that code and then have it show up unless I fuck with it) when you actually try to post a picture.

Also, I find it helpful that when I don't know how to do something that someone else has done, I just right click on the page and say "View Source", then scroll through until I find the code I want, then shamelessly pirate it. Sometimes it's some complicated CSS bullshit that I don't understand, but a lot of the time it's just simple code. That's basically how I learned this in the first place.

Changes, Turn and Face the Strange Changes

Well in 7 days I will be joining the "Living on Your Own" group. Ted will be flying to New Jersey on Saturday. He is participating in a management training program for his company that will have him moving all over the east coast and internationally for about 2-3 years. Its an amazing opportunity for him, but 2-3 years?! So until then I will continue living in Long Beach and hopefully go back to school for a masters in environmental science. I just need to take the GREs and the subject specific GRE in Biology.
My job is going well and I recently got a second part time job at a movie theater to help out with the added expenses now that Ted will be gone. Life will be changing for me soon and I'm scared, but excited to see where these strange changes will take me.

what is up?

I want to post something on the blog, but I feel like I have nothing tremendous to add right now. I finished school on Thursday (thank God!) and I've pretty much just been sleeping since then. The floor can be very comfortable if you are tired enough. Seriously, I got up at 2:00 yesterday and 1:00 today. In a week, I should be back to normal. So now I just need a big J-O-B. I applied for like a thousand retail jobs, but so far very little response. This week I'm going to check out some freelance agencies. More on that later.

Talked to both of my parents this week, always good to check in. Although they haven't seen each other in years, they are having the same weird problem. Racoons keep getting into my mom's house, usually while she is at work, once while she was in the living room watching tv. Apparently WeeMilo's food is just irresistable to them. Meanwhile at my dad's house, a whole colony of racoons have taken up residence under his house, where they like to mate under his bedroom. Eww. Apparently both San Luis Obispo and Contra Costa Counties will provide with "coon traps" (?!) but will not assist you with the disposal. "What the hell am I supposed to do with a dead racoon?" I don't know Mom, I don't know.

I had to stop tivoing (sp.?) American Gladiators because it was taking up so much space. Even I don't want to watch that four times a day! I'm totally addicted to Army Wives, a lifetime original series. The best thing about watching a lifetime show is all the ads you see for other high quality *cough* lifetime original shows and movies.

Also can someone (probably Anna) remind me how to post a picture? I had the html thingy written down in my planner, but then I threw it away and I can't remember it. Really that statement at the top of the page is so accurate, it kills me.

The Price is Right

The last showing of 'The Price is Right' is TODAY. Currently watching it right now at 10am. They are reshowing it at 8pm tonight. So if you want to watch Bob Barker tell you to spay or neuter your pet, tonight is the last night to hear it!

My sister is kind of a YouTube genius

Not that anyone really cares about this, because the kid in question has been met by, oh, three of you, and, like, once, but my sister made this pretty awesome video for my cousin Matthew's birthday and I wanted to put it somewhere so I don't forget it. Maybe watch it if you have the time, because she does some interesting stuff with it that I want her to teach me how to do. It kind of puts my 4S videos below to shame. Enjoy.

Layout finished (sort of)

Your unflagging, tireless "web designer" managed to get this blog in semi-decent shape today while she should be packing. Don't know how on the grid she'll be over the next, mmm, say two to three months, but she hopes to check back in on this blog and post often. Don't leave it blank--post! Or, at least, leave me flattering comments about the design.

Happy Graduation

Happy Graduation Anna! I had a margarita for you at my cousin's wedding. It had an open bar. The best weddings are the ones that not only celebrate a joyous union, but also the one where the guests meet at the bar for free drinks!
