Hey lovely lady lumps!

So, life has been a whole lot of ridic shananigans since I left NY. Besides the arrival back home that made Kim and I delerious, unemployment has been completely unreachable. The paycheck I was expecting never came, nor did the one that was to follow. Somehow my paperwork got delayed and I was not paid...for a freakin month. So when I arrived back from NY with less than a dollar to my name and needing a place to live by the end of the month, things looked grim. Things took an even worse turn when the state of CA enabled those on unemployment to extend their benefits for another 6 months. The offices are swamped with calls and a recording picks up all the incoming calls. If your phone call does not fall into one of the four catagories they spit out at you in the minute and a half message, the damn system hangs up on you. It took me four phone calls at different points in the day for two days to realize this. Last week, I recieved a notice for a phone interview and I freaked out. What if they changed their mind because they found out I was traveling? Not only was not being paid (both presently and in the future) getting to me, but I still have not found a place to live. I called my mother stating I was homeless and pennyless--yes, a bit overdramatic I must admit--but I didn't know what the hell to do. Yes, I am going to be 25 and I still go running to my parents. Or at least venting.

So finally on Saturday, I had my phone interview with unemployment. First off, when did government offices stay open on a weekend?! I thought my interview notice was a misprint, but after missing the first phone call @ 9:51am, it wasn't. Of course missing the call led to my further freak out, especially since it was not even scheduled in 10am. wtf unemployment?! When my interviewer called back at 9:55am, I got the call. It was then the interviewer realized my appointment was not until 10am and he stated he would call back. Again, wtf unemployment? You're completely unreachable by phone and then finally, when I actually get a human being, I still can't get any answers--it's not question time yet. Finally homeboy calls back at 10:45am and after explaining I was broke, will be getting my checks by the end of this week. Hallelujah Hollaback! Yet, despite me taking care of all this, my parents insisted on coming...this weekend. While I do appriciate the support, the Saturday nite sleepover at my place was not my idea of a good time. Especially when they were in bed by the late hour of 11pm. Yeah, my parents are party animals.

So--since I've started the last two paragraphs with this I'm just gonna go with it--I'm still homeless, but at least there's some bacon coming home to MaMa. Other than that life is great. Eric and I are wonderful and I cannot wait for him to get here. I talk to him for hours daily and you guys know I am not a phone person. I'll post pics of my new place...as soon as I get one. Off to search more!

Sick day

Kim was complaining on the phone about how nobody posts to this anymore, so I thought I'd give a stab at it, although I don't really have a whole lot to say, really. I took a sick day today, because I had a really annoying sinus headache, which only got worse in the morning after I called out and went back to bed. I got up at noon and took the bus about 20 blocks in a complete fog and went to the grocery store to get some cheese and a green pepper, then went back up to my apartment, took some Excedrin, ate a quesadilla and started to feel better. I watched some X-Files and read some of the new David Sedaris book and watched my favorite scene of Penelope about a frillion times.

I also got an email from my agent, who said that she's gearing up to send out my manuscript after Labor Day, because that's when all the publishers will be settling back into their routines after all the conferences and vacations during the summer. So I'm impatient, but I also know this is the best idea, so that the book doesn't fall through the cracks. I'm so lucky to have somebody behind me that believes in the project so much--I only hope that it all lives up to our expectations.

That's really all that's going on in my life. Sorry to be so boring, but oh well. My life is boring. Oh, also I saw Wanted, which stars the amazing James McAvoy, who was typically wonderful. The movie was violent, but for an action film it had quite a quirky, ridiculous personality--only a crazy person could've made it, but a brilliant crazy person. I highly recommend.

it's been a while

Hey Clowns! I haven't posted or tumbled or facebooked or teleported in quite some time. What the heck is going on?

I started a new job at J.Crew. I'm a production assistant for kids and women's outlet. It's pretty good, nice to be working full time finally. I'm still freelance, so I don't get the sweet discount. Boo hiss, pure torture, truly. This is the only place in the world where men show up to work in cut off madras shorts, I am sure.

I am obsessed with the soundtrack to In The Heights right now. I can't stop listening to it. Also enjoying Feist and Nina Simone's version of My Baby Just Cares For Me.

Leaving for California on Thursday!! Woohoo! Sad that I won't see any of you while I'm there, but still fun. Going to Pebble Beach for a few days with Nammy and the cousins. Then to Maui with my fajah, his girlfriend, and my sister. And finally down to SLO to see my mom and Mrs. Foofy. The Missus!

Had so much fun last weekend in Lake George! So beautiful. I spent a few days with friends Kathy and Darcy swimming and sunning and even running. Now I'm sunburned and my legs are so stiff I can barely walk, haha. I have to post these pictures because I think they are funny...
Darc playing it cool...

Kathy playing it even cooler...

Me being a big tool...?

Some things never change, haha.
Hope everyone is well

HELLO?!

Fine. I will post because everyone else seems to be too busy! lol Besides, I am tired of looking at the same post at the top. lol

I am going to Toby Keith tonight. One of my friends knows someone at the Cricket Wireless venue and she always get free tickets last minute. YAY! So, I invited Ian (might be a mistake but we will see lol) and we are going. I've never seen Toby but from what I understand, his concerts are a big party. Mmmm I can't wait to drink beer tonight.

What all is going on with you guys? Come on, distract me from work!

Miss you guys!
