Nagging works!
Aw, you guys, you all posted on the blog! I love you! Kim, I will definitely help you sup (soup? suup?) up your blog, but you have to give me the link and tell me what you want and possibly send me an image to make a banner out of. Gotta warn you, it'll look a lot like my blog in terms of layout, because I'm way too lazy to figure out how to change the other Blogger layouts unless you, you know, ask really nicely or something.
Anyway, my life is boring! How's that for the refrain of the summer? Yesterday I went to Border's and totally ruined my "I'm not going to buy books this summer" rule by purchasing Relocating to New York and this other small (totally overpriced) book about how to get an apartment in New York without paying a broker's fee. I'm on my way, Bri, and when I get there we're totally going to play beer pong because that bar you were talking about? My life dream.
Hm, what else? Ooh, I got paid! So now I just have to deposit money in my bank account, and this living with grandma scheme that I've got going? Really cheap. I'm simply amazed at how little money I've spent in the past two weeks; this bodes very well for the whole moving to New York scheme that I'm cooking up in my head.
Sadly, today is Independence Day and I assume that I will be doing a grand total of nothing. Just sitting around, reading The Rachel Papers and not working on my novel like I should. Nickie wants to have dinner but since she's not going to truck it up here to see me and I can already see the glints of worry and disapproval in my grandmother's eye when I say I'm going to go downtown on this the craziest day of the year (the Taste is going on right now and there's about a frillion people in this city, what with the tourists from Iowa and New Jersey and all the suburbanites and everything), I don't think that's going to happen. It's about 11:00 Central and I've already had breakfast and gone to Mass (8:30 AM, people). Things can only go downhill from here.
