Oookay
So, first things first, it's seven fifteen in the morning and I'm up, draining my laptop of its last remaining battery power posting on the Internet and watching a DVD because I can't go back to sleep and I have two hours until anyone gets up and until I can go buy Harry Potter. How cool am I? Also, I drank WAY too much wine last night and was ACTUALLY DRUNK with my AUNT, UNCLE, and COUSINS. I'm such a loser. I want to apologize, but I don't want to draw attention. You know how I am--you put it in front of me, I get distracted by conversation and I keep drinking. SO stupid. I feel like such a knob. Thank God I'm not hung over or anything.
The cool conversation I was having last night was with Emma, and she READ MY MANUSCRIPT THAT I GAVE HER TWO WEEKS AGO, which shocked the living hell out of me because you clowns won't even read it (said with love and affection, not accusation) and she's, you know, sixteen and sort of flighty sometimes. But, then again, she's sixteen with nothing to do this summer, so maybe she has no excuse. Anyway, she really loved it and we were having this long conversation about the characters and she was saying how she didn't like Neily at first but with all the flashbacks she finally found out what he was about and liked him, that she thought Carly WAS sympathetic, etc. IT WAS SO EXCITING. Someone finally reading my work and actually being as excited as I was about it was pretty amazing.
I also spent a lot of time yesterday trying to get Emma hooked on my NEW FAVE SHOW, Joan of Arcadia, which I had to get on DVD because it's not even on anymore--it got cancelled two years ago. But I'm such a huge 'shipper, and it's got a big 'ship in it that I just ADORE, mostly because the boy, while not "hot" in a technical way, is pretty much the most adorable guy ever, and is probably what Neily would be like if Carly hadn't actually screwed him over or died. Totally unrealistic, of course, because good guys can't be found in high school, and good guys like Adam (the character's name) can't be found, well, anywhere, but still, dare to dream.
