Doug is the coolest boss ever!

Because he gave me an iPod for Christmas!!!!!

Now before you freak out and think to yourself "what a generous, amazing gift!", let me tell you the story.

Every year at AFA they have this exhibit hall where a bunch of vendors try to sell you stuff. And every year to convince people to go, they have raffles if you visit a certain number of vendors and have them sign off on a sheet. Well, in the past two years they have given really lame gifts, like dinner to a restaurant in the city where the conference is held. This year, I decided I didn't want a fancy dinner in Cincinatti, so I didn't participate in the raffle. Well...Doug did. And he won- a brand new iPod.

Well, when he told me- I freaked! A GOOD GIFT! OMG!!! For the past few weeks I've been giving him a hard time about it. He has had a shuffle since July and has no idea how to use it, he just isn't that technological. So I told him he should give me the new iPod he won! I even offered to pay him for it.

Well, today I got to work and I had a card and a small gift on my desk- the iPod. I was thrilled. And it's awesome- let me tell you! It's one of those new nano's with the color screen and everything. I went to Target tonight and bought a thing to play it in the car. I'm pumped for my drive on Wednesday!

And...Dani gave me an interesting gift as well. We've been talking lately about her new tattoo and I mentioned I kind of want one. Well...she bought me a gift certificate to get one. Now I can't back out...wish me luck. I'll keep you updated. :)

Celine Dion, Wicked, Spice Girls, Oh My!

Spice up your life! Two weeks ago I went and relived 10 years ago. My friend Steven and I went to the Staples Center in LA and saw the Spice Girls Reunion concert! It was fabulous and there was no lip syncing , well maybe for Posh Spice. Saw David Beckham and his sons, he was so hot even through binoculars. Each girl had their own performance through out the concert and we really enjoyed Ginger Spice's 'Its Raining Men', especially Steven!

The next night I was invited by a coworker to see Wicked for free. I had already seen it in San Francisco a few years back and seeing it again reminded me how much I love it and the book! The music is fun and a lot of the actors I saw the first time were performing their roles this time around too! I didn't care so much for the actress who played Glinda. It was a little over the top, too much SNL Molly Shannon ditz for me.

And tonight (Cambria you'll appreciate this) I saw the Celine Dion Las Vegas concert on the movie screen. I can see why it was such a hit for the past 4 years in Vegas. The costumes, dancers, and lighting really interpreted and flowed with the mood of the songs. Although during the song 'Seduce Me' it seemed like there would be a lot of hot hunky guys around Celine, but no there were many that were soft in the middle. Come on Celine! You couldn't get any hot dancers for that number? And she did perform that infamous hand-chest thumb!

Besides the concerts I've been keeping busy working and going to Christmas parties. I got invited to Ted's company's Christmas party last Thursday. It was really nice, free drinks and food. Enjoyed 2 sour apple martinis and did a good job representing Ted while hes away on the east coast. I even got his $30 Target gift card!

Looking forward to hitting the east coast for the holidays (I leave on Saturday.) Anna can't wait to meet up with you, its been too long!

And as the year comes to a close here is a top 10 list of the best movies of 2007 (that I've seen):

The Queen
Pan's Labyrinth
Grindhouse
Waitress
Hair Spray
Death at a Funeral
3:10 Tu Yuma
Gone Baby Gone
Lars and the Real Girl
Juno

P.S. Annoying, but always fun to watch...Kendra from 'The Girls Next Door.' Girl you have to work on that laugh of yours!
I had kind of a bad night last night. I blame the time of year and the all this lovey-dovey "here's what you should by your sweetheart for Christmas" stuff floating around. I cried over the whole situation for the first time in a while; its been weeks, though, last night it felt like it happened just the day before. I managed to tire myself out enough to fall asleep around 2:45am and FOR SURE skipped my planned 6am trip to the gym. I feel better today, however, struggling a bit and fighting off thinking about him again. I guess I need longer than 5 weeks to get over it all.

Anyway, in other news....my birthday is in 7 days EXACTLY. It's hard to believe I will be 26; I feel like I should've done more with my life by now. My sister is flying in tomorrow night and staying with us through New Years, so it will be nice to have her around.

Other than that, I am so busy at work. Oddly enough, even though it drains me, I enjoy working a lot. It's only when I am not busy and my brain is not occupied that I have moments like last night.

Kim told me about a Vegas trip around Martin Luther King day (1/21). I am down if I can afford it. I would so love to drink, dance, and hang by the pool with the HOTTEST and COOLEST girls in the world!

Love you and miss you.

Cameron Diaz.

She is ANNOYINGLY perky (i.e. Charlie's Angels) and really not THAT cute at all - I think she looks like a duck. Besides she dated Justin for like 4 years or something and that's reason enough to hate anyone in my book.

Oh and is Seacrest gay? Can you be THAT METRO and not be gay? Another question posed for MoCa members. :-)

not my idol

Ryan Seacrest. I can't stand that clown.

I really can't think of any more right now. I save my loathing for Ryan.

Rowland. Out.

To get people to post, I'll try this

Let's have a fun, no-thinking-necessary blog-o-thon, yes, friends? I'll give you a topic: Celebrities you hate for no particular reason. I'll post mine first--please follow suit! I miss you!

1.) Shannyn Sossamon: Nevermind, I have reasons. A.) "Shannyn"? That's not a name. Or, more accurately, not a real spelling of the name "Shannon". B.) She's ugly. I'm sorry. That might sound mean, and, like, holding women to all these cheap superficial standards that I don't want to be held to, but she's an actress, and mostly that means that your looks come under criticism. I seriously don't like her face. C.) She's a pretty lame actress, by my standards.

2.) Mischa Barton: Oh, actually, this is justifiable, too. What I don't like about Mischa Barton is that she's a terrible actress, and also she's got sort of a semi-accent that bugs. Plus, she's not interesting--her face and brain are as vacant as Paris Hilton's--and I don't like how the fashion industry takes her seriously, because once you've convinced Vogue shoppers of your cred, it's just a walk in the park until you're nominated for a stupid Oscar you don't deserve, Keira Knightley.

3.) Tom Cruise: I shouldn't have to explain this one.

4.) Madonna: What's not to hate? The bullshit obsession with/endorsement of Kabbalah (and the attendant red bracelet)? The fake accent? The crazy liberalism without a shred of thought or restraint? The rather disappointing music and performances since Ray of Light? I could go on.

5.) Angelina Jolie: Also needs no explanation.

Now go ahead and post your own!

Kim won't care, but for the rest of you

The Sex and the City trailer. I'm not going to go all too cool for school on y'all and pretend I'm not excited for the movie to come out in May. Speaking of movies, my review of Juno is up at my blog. Sneak peak: I loved it!

Post more people! (Thanks go out to you, Carrie, though, for being awesome.)

You've got to see this.

Seriously, I am still laughing. omg.

For a hilarious laugh. Just go.

Merry Christmas!

So you think you're a Scorpio? THINK AGAIN.

I hope you guys aren't so attached to your astrological sign, because THEY'VE CHANGED. Apparently something about the Earth wobbling on its axis every 25,000 years or something equally science-y. I'm no longer a Capricorn, in case you're interested--I'm a fucking Sagittarius. Which actually sort of makes me sad, which is weird, right? Because I don't actually buy into astrology? But remember how "Syzygy" was "my" X-Files episode because it takes place between Jan 12 and Jan 13 (my birthday), and with all the Capricorns and goats and so forth? Now it can't be "my" episode anymore. ASTROLOGY! You're ruining my EFFING X-Files fandom! [Jezebel]

Wanna see Harry Potter naked?

As if that's even a question! Well, if you do, come visit Cambria and I and maybe we'll scalp $500 tickets to see Equus, starring the boy wizard and his, um, wand? J/k, the tickets might not be that expensive, although if you factor in all the injuries you'll get when you're trampled by a mob of crazed tweens and way-too-old-for-this adults it might amount to that:
In London, fans regularly mobbed the stage door. A phalanx of London bobbies always escorted Radcliffe to his car. He'd pause on the way to sign "Equus" posters and playbills but refused to sign any "Harry Potter" memorabilia.

Actually, replace "Radcliffe" with "Anderson", "Equus" with "What the Night Is For", and "Harry Potter" with "X-Files" in that statement and it's a pretty accurate description of that time Kim, Cambria and I went to London. [New York Post]

I can't use behemoth in a sentence like Anna can

I have a completely boring life, so I will write. haha

I've technically meet 3 guys and been on 2 dates since the break up; my turn around time is still great. Though I realize it may be a little to soon because all of them just didn't seem to measure up (at least to the chemistry JERKFACE and I had). It was fun to date other people for once but I definitely came out POSITIVE that finding a guy just right for me is not going to be that easy. Oh well. :-)

Work is grand, despite this MAJOR jerkoff in my dept - we will call him Mets (he loves that icky team lol). I started on my first network (officially) on Monday! I've been on my own for the last 3 weeks so this wasn't a big deal, but now I am the OFFICIAL contact and that feels pretty grand. I believe I will get my second at the end of the month. I am really enjoying my job (despite the mediocre pay); its about time!

The company is having a holiday party 12/15 in our new fancy lala building up north, in the Woodlands and I am in desperate need of a new holiday dress and a DATE. I don't have much money now so I think I make do with something I have. The date part is up in the air. Two options: Option 1) Mike flies out from San Diego for that weekend to hang out and come to the party (which he said he would look into)...this option is obviously NUMBER 1. Option 2) I take my mom - LAME I know. lol

Oh and KIM, I am going to this concert tonight called The 10 Man Jam, because my friend at work's husband is the morning show producer here in Houston. GUESS WHO IS GOING TO THE AFTER PARTY?! ME!!!!!!!!!!! haha Highlights: Josh Turner, Dierks Bentley, and Clint Black. Can't wait. I'll post all about it.

Otherwise, everything else is ok with me. I work late, usually until about 8, so I really don't do much during the week. It sounds gnarly, but I am actually liking it. This schedule doesn't give me much time, which is less time to sit around and think about all that's happened. I loved your NYC pictures - it looked so fun! Wish I was there!

Oh and before I forget, next post will be about how my friend Megan (from San Diego. Kim you know her) is getting married in February...after knowing the guy for a month. Yeah....that's what I thought too.

Love you and miss you!

Don't ask, just click

Happy holidays from Rail Europe!

Also, people? Post on the blog more often! I'm carrying this lime-green behemoth right now! Does nobody else have a completely boring life they'd like to talk about, or has nobody else found something weird on the interwebs that they'd like to share?! GOSH!

Tea Leoni and David Duchovny are SOOOOO copying me!

Uh, Cambria? David Duchovny and Tea Leoni are probably moving down the street from you, or something. Maybe we'll bump into them at the Buck of Stars and get to be lifelong besties!
